This page will be a helpful tool for those who are just getting started, as well as those who are familiar with capturing footage, but new to the stock footage industry. Here we provide simple do’s and don’ts, proper shooting techniques, other information to help make your footage capturing experience as successful and your clips marketable as they can be.

Starting out, keep your camera stabilized (either with a steady cam or tripod) and do not pan or zoom in and out. Let the subject move into and out of the frame. Keep it simple your first few shoots, then once you get a fluid head mount practice until you can get smooth pans.
Be sure to download the new 5D firmware so you can manually adjust aperture settings for video.
Shoot for 10-30 second clips, and always leave about 3-5 seconds of lead in and lead out to make editing easier.
